Pink Teams Houndstooth

Wearing this houndstooth pattern dress to another wedding party.
It's tad loose but I figure if its size was smaller then I would look like a sack of houndstooth rice.
So the looseness is actually an advantage for me. Besides, I always purchase clothing one or half size larger than my original size. Not only it's more comfortable to wear but also provides me more space to breath - in case I put on more weight, which I always do (because my weight goes up and down like stock market).

Accessorize with wine color faux crocodile pattern over-sized clutch and bowed wine flat.

And do you not notice I wear pink lipstick this time? lol
Girly not? Hahaha.

I am never a fan of lipstick as it's pointless applying lipstick, imo.
You eat, the lipstick is gone, then you have to re-apply it.
You drink, it leaves stain on the glass, which is an ugly scene.
You go shopping, you are not careful, you stain a dress (OR a white shirt) while trying it on.
AND worst of all is this scenario. You are having an affair with other people's husband and you mistakenly leave your lipstick mark on his shirt (what a cliche - roll eyes) and then you are in serious deep shit. LOL

I meant to wear red lipstick but I wanted to look fresh and young ( yes because I am in denial) instead of mature or old.
Also, the night before I watched Fashion TV and I saw one of Victoria's Secret Angels look so divine in pink lips. They're glowing, fresh, sexy and all. Literally drooling over the Angels.
So, pink lips it is!!!!

Photobucket

The opposite version of glowing, fresh and sexy : dark, dull and DUH!!!
Triple D.

I am out of here now. Till the next post, folks.

Bits & Pieces

Life is fun because there are many fun things to do.
In my case, life is fun because there are many cute stuff to "ahhhh......" or "awww....." or "wuiihhhh......" at

Like these :

Photobucket

My husband got me these as part of my birthday present. They are in Indonesian, which I don't really fancy, but it's the thought that counts.
He knows I've always wanted to find "Gone With the Wind" novel.
And he picked "The Lost Symbol" simply because it's Dan Brown's novel.
Hahaha.

Photobucket

And these bears are what I chose as souvenirs for the guests in our wedding.

Photobucket

Key chains family.
Round and cute.

Photobucket

Our Chinese signs.
I am the monkey and he is the dog.
The sentence sounds weird huh. I am the monkey and he is the dog. LOL

Photobucket

I don't understand why Universal Studio pictures the dog as a cute animal and the monkey as a fierce one.
Monkeys can be cute and domesticated too while dogs can be wild and fierce. Right?

Photobucket

Angry Birds. RAHHH!!!!!

Photobucket

Key chain souvenir, from my student when she went to Disneyland Hong Kong.

Did you go "ahhhh............." or "awww................" while reading this post?
Meaningless question.
Bye..

"Grocery Shopping"

Went to O'flahertys for dinner after finished teaching.

Photobucket

Ordering lime juice. The purpose is to wash away all that fat I was about to stack into my body, but that was a stupid theory.
Once in, fat will settle comfortably inside your body. It means to find a way out of your system, but it gets lost and stays there eternally. WTF.

Went grocery shopping afterwards. Well, we call it "grocery shopping" but actually what we usually buy are mostly snacks, chocolate, more snacks, a little bit fruit and veggie, more snacks and a few others (body shampoo, toothpaste and other toiletries).
You can judge someone by its shopping cart. And now you know we are literally food junkie.
Eat and eat and eat, unhealthily.
Sad but true.

Photobucket

And here's another trip to "grocery shopping" again. :D

Ivory + Red

Lace always intrigues me.
Wore an ivory lace dress to a wedding party. Accessorize in everything red.
The pictures are tad dark though. Bad editing skill.

Photobucket

Photobucket

It was supposedly a cocktail party (although there was no alcohol involved here) because guests are free to roam around for food and drink (roaming sounds cool huh, like pre-historic hunters and food gatherers)

Us girls in black and ivory.
My sister in law said that I looked older here. The curl, the red lips and the dress.
I couldn't agree more because that's the point, you know, red lips and curled hair will successfully add a quarter century to your look. I wanted that sort of Shanghai 50's look.
I LOVE THE OLD SHANGHAI LOOK!!!!!
And I guess I nailed it!!! lol

Wise Up

I heard and noticed leopard print is so in.
Then of course as a fashion whore, I can't miss it, can I?
LOL
Been dying to have a leopard skirt but my big hips have always stood in the way. So I'm pleased to come across this leopard print skirt that fits my above-average hips.
I hope to find myself a nice pencil skirt, but until then I have to be satisfied with only A-line skirt, no thanks to the hips.

Somehow I always have this sort of look on my face, don't know why. I think people who see it will feel like slapping me. One of my friends names me BQ for it, which stands for Bitchy Queen. However, I guarantee you I am nothing near bitchy.
Really not.
Seriously not.
Absolutely not.

Photobucket

More fun and friendly me.
I am really a person of those quality.
Really am.
Seriously am.
Absolutely am.

Photobucket

See!!!!
I told ya!! Super friendly me. Right? Right?
RIGHT!!!!

At the night food court at Semarang street, getting some late supper before watching Johny English 2.
We imitated Three Wise Monkeys (which are sometimes called Three Mystic Apes) here :

Photobucket

1. Iwazaru who speaks no evil

Photobucket

2. Kikazaru who hears no evil

Photobucket

3 Mizaru who sees no evil

And FYI, the saying in Japanese is "mizaru, kikazaru, iwazaru" literally means sees no evil, hears no evil and speaks no evil respectively.
If you are interested more in these three wise monkeys origin, just google them.
Both Japanese and Chinese culture are closely related to these monkeys.
If I am not mistaken, some Confucius teaching contains these saying (in a more complete and longer version - of course), which - if I am not mistaken again - was later shortened and simplified when brought to Japan.

Photobucket

So, we should all be like the three wise monkeys, shouldn't we?
Be wise!!!!
Wtf, but..... seriously, be wise.
That's a ll for now. Tatah......

Lazy Days

There are days when I feel extremely lazy to wear any make-up (except for the eye-brow pencil).
People who are used to see me with my make-up on are usually surprised when they see the non-make-up me and will ask questions like :
1. Are you sick?
2. You look totally different. What's wrong? -----> bad different not good different and the remark is usually accompanied with disbelief expression as if I have contracted some deadly disease.
3. OMG. What in the world is wrong with you?

LOL

HELLOWWWW........................???!!!???
Don't they know that's the power of make-up? To upgrade your look from -100 to +100?

So here I present me without any make-up on.... JENG JENGG JENGGG :

Photobucket

Too hideous a make-up-less face. You should be satisfied with just the side view.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I know.
They are not that scary after all, right?
HAHAHAHA......
(Actually, they are!!! Not to mention old, pale, colorless, lifeless and bloated)
So, the verdict is girls need to wear make-up on daily basis.
Wearing make-up doesn't mean you don't love the real you but the fact is if you love yourself that much, you should beautify yourself.
After all, it's pleasing to see our pretty-selves. Right? RIGHT!!!!
It is crucial for our well-being too.
Wtf LOL.

Photobucket

Closing this post with the fresh me (in make-up, of course. What do you expect? LOL)

That's all for now, babes.
Bye............

50's Dresses

If there's a particular era of dress I like it has to be 50's vintage dresses.
My mom has some dresses like this that she passes down to me which I haven't had the chance to wear yet. Actually I doubt it whether I can wear her dresses or not as she was really slim and petite when she was around my age. LOL.
Well probably I can have them altered a bit to suit my size as her dresses are really nice ones -nice motif, nice cutting- and really scream vintage.

So in the mean time, I'm lucky to come across these two dresses that suit my size.

The ivory one with some starry motif, sort of, I don't know what the motif really is actually :

And the green floral one with gold buttons :

My sister is wearing a vintage cut paisley motif dress. I am delighted that my love for vintage stuff starts to rub off on her. LOL

That's all for now, peeps.
Stay tuned for the next post :)
